History of the SavaKnife brand

My name is Max, here is my short story of how I started making handmade knives.

About 11 years ago I made my first knife under the supervision of my father Sergey, who at that time was engaged in making swords of different cultures. At that time it was an interest that gradually grew into a hobby. I got pleasure from the fact that with each attempt to make a knife, I succeeded. After that I decided to try forging Damascus, the first experience was unsuccessful, but still I overcame a large number of attempts. And after some time I successfully used a hammer press and forged Damascus. After that the dream of having my own workshop appeared. At that time, we worked together with my father in his workshop, gradually buying tools and gaining experience. The hobby grew into work, after which I opened an individual entrepreneur and began to take friends to help me in my business. But nothing worked out, because at that time I did not have the knowledge to start working properly as a team.

But over time I gained experience, and everything started to work out.

I attended many events, meetings with knife masters, shared experience. But the infamous date in the life of every Ukrainian changed life forever.

I went to war, got injured, after the operation (knee implant) I underwent rehabilitation, and was a driver at the headquarters. My health deteriorated, I went to another rehabilitation but already in Odessa (where I later married a beautiful girl, Evgenia)

I left the army (I was a volunteer) and started working little by little, it was difficult and it was not clear what to do next. But my wife and I went through difficult moments together. What can I say now, if you are reading this, then you already know what we have achieved in knife activities. Namely, a large number of people choose us, including cooks, chefs, master chefs, food bloggers, a large number of foreign bloggers, Ukrainian bloggers, and people who simply love to cook at home or outdoors.

In general, I missed a lot, because I won't remember all the ups and downs.
